EASY BREEZY SUP

SUP Windsurfing: Easy Start for Beginners

Windsurfing might look difficult — like a sport only for experienced athletes. But in fact, inflatable SUP windsurfing makes it easy and fun to learn for everyone!
It's a perfect activity for beginners and those who just want to relax on the water.
With a SUP windsurf board you can catch the wind, go on a little adventure, sail to the middle of the sea, relax, sunbathe, and then easily return back using the sail. The wind helps you move faster and saves your energy — and the process itself brings a lot of joy.
The first ride always goes with an instructor — they will teach you the basics of controlling the sail.
And if you like windsurfing, in our school you can continue learning and try more advanced windsurf boards.

How to Make Your First Steps in Windsurfing

Positioning on the Board
Place the board across the wind so that the wind blows from the side.
Lay the sail down along the wind direction, and climb onto the board from the side without the sail.
Before lifting the sail, it’s important to take the correct position on the board.
Stand in the center of the board with your feet shoulder-width apart so that the sail mount is between your feet.
Face forward and keep your back to the wind.

How to Lift the Sail Properly
The sail is attached to the mast and first lies on the water.
To lift it, find the uphaul rope — a special rope designed for lifting the sail.
Pull the sail up slowly and smoothly to let the water drain off.
Hold the boom with both hands on each side of the mast.

Start Moving Across the Wind
When you hold the boom so that the mast points towards the front of the board, the SUP windsurf will start moving immediately.
You can control your speed by opening or closing the sail.
When the sail is open, it catches less wind and the speed is low.
When the sail is closed, more wind fills it, and the speed increases.

Steering Directions
Tilt the sail forward — towards the nose of the board — and the board will turn downwind.
Tilt the sail back — towards the tail — and the board will turn upwind.
Windsurfing allows you to move not only with the wind but also against it.
To move against the wind, you need to use tacking — a zigzag movement left and right relative to the wind direction.
This will help you slowly but confidently move where you want.

Why is SUP Windsurfing So Unique?

1. Easy to Learn
Unlike classic windsurfing, a SUP windsurf board is wider and more stable.
This means:
– It's easier to keep balance, even if you're a beginner.
– You don’t need a lot of time to learn — you can start riding right away.
– And if the wind suddenly drops, you can always use the paddle and continue your SUP trip.

2. Freedom of Movement
SUP windsurfing gives you plenty of options for an active and relaxing time on the water:
– You can sail far from the shore, stop, and enjoy the sun while lying on the board.
– And when you want to return — the wind will help you do it faster and easier.
– It’s a perfect way to explore the water, discover new routes, and enjoy nature.

3. Speed and Energy Saving
Unlike regular SUP paddling, the sail helps you use the power of the wind.
This gives you several advantages:
– You move faster, even with light wind.
– You save your energy — the wind does part of the work for you.
– You can travel longer distances without getting tired.
